Raped the reply button on this one.
The other day I was watching a movie when it occurred to me something. Doctors over the years have been doing research and coming up with antidotes and cures for every sickness and health disease there is. My majoring field too, has been coming with therapies, overviews, principles and interventions to help people with their behavioral and psychological problems or mental disorders.
But then this question came to my mind "I wonder if there is any cure to missing someone?" How do you even cure it? Hypothetically, if there was a cure. If those longingness for that person is so to say "cured", would that defeat the purpose to miss that someone? If that longing is gone, would that also affect the feelings this person have to that person? When you miss a person, I believe it's because we all love that person do we not? Be it a family member, a friend or a spouse I think it pretty much works the same for everyone, no?
This lingering tingly feeling that always stroll the streets of your heart or mind does not usually pass by easily as "Oh it's just some stupid emotion" . It stays there like an anchor and gets. stuck. It isnt like some OCD(obsessive-compulsve disorder) kind of thing where given the awareness of the things you are doing are actually by choice, like when that person is nervous he chooses to wash his hands and not doing out of his disorder. Also this is applied if Reality Therapy was to be applied.
Hypothetically with the cure, it actually may help in a certain ways. Like spouse, families or people who hold on dearly to that feeling might actually help them to move on. Or helping people with depressions over these broken relationships, lost siblings or families which subsequently would lead to other diseases or mental disorders. Would this so called "cure" destroy what's left of the feelings that hold the emotions and memories they once had together too? So many uncertainties.
But then again, did God ever missed Jesus during the duration he was sent to earth? Or has he even missed us his children? Perhaps we were made this way and not everything must be cured. I for one do miss a few people, 2 in particular.
Do you miss someone?
